Doctor’s Cave Bathing Club was founded in 1906 by Dr. Alexander James McCatty. The beach property was donated to the city of Montego Bay to be managed by a board of directors. Dr. McCatty wanted to ensure that proceeds from the bathing club contributed to individuals that lived in the parish of St.James. The Donations Committee was then established to manage and oversee funds donated to various individuals and organizations.Over the years, Doctor's Cave has made substantial impact to the community through programs in health, environment, sports, education, cultural, history, and social intervention.
